Cecilia Myers Several HHS award winners were recognized in the annual honors assembly. The Central State Bank Scholarships, based on leadership, scholarship, and extra curricular activi- ties, were awarded to Sheila Reynolds and Erland Crupper. The Rotary Club awarded Georgia Ensz and Ron Herron with 100 dollar scholarships to Hutchinson Junior College. Other awards from local organizations were: Hutchinson Music Club, 100 dollars to Susan Sick- mon, Altrusa Nurses, 100 dollars to Linda Young: DAR Good Citizen Award to Margo Lyman, Delta Delta Delta, 100 dollars to Barbara Hughes, and Opti-Mrs., 100 dollars to Sherrill Johnson. Scholarships from school organizations were the 100 dollar awards from FTA to Cathie Zimmerman and Karen Haskard and a l00 dollar award from Hi-Y to Robert Keckler. National award winners were Hutchinson's five National Merit Scholarship Finalists Sharon Young, Brian Biles, David Doane, Lee Gordon, and Gary Schrader. awards seniors awarded afar years qf work and stuajf The winners of the 1962 jim-Juliet Davis Founda- tion award were Cecilia Myers and James Finney. The Davis Foundation award was established in 1957 by the late Mr. jim Davis and Mrs. Davis. The award is presented each year to an outstanding boy and girl at Hutchinson High School, and is based on outstanding scholastic achievement. The 500 dollar annual stipend may be used at any college in Kansas or Missouri.
