MISS EMMA SAGE Spanish, Latin Do you want to be cultured when you leave high school? Do you have special talent in art or music? Do you hope to travel to other lands? If your answer to these questions is affirmative, you will find opportunities to study art, music, or languages. In art, work in design, drawing, painting, and crafts is included. The music department carries on a busy program with the band and orchestra giving annual concerts and the vocal department present- ing The Holy City and the Salt Hawk Revue. The Spanish classes train us to be better neighbors with the countries of the other Americas by teach- ing their language and customs. M' QW AW' Future carpenters, draftsmen, printers, and mechanics will owe much to the practical exper- ience they received in the industrial department. The shops are equipped with modern machinery such as the linotype, cylinder press, power lathes. airplane demonstration engines, jointers and power saws. Working with the English department, the school's library carries on a busy schedule helping students. The library keeps excellent files on cur- rent and past news, authors, and statistics. Training future librarians is another of its activities. The physical education courses have the re- sponsibility of keeping students physically fit. The health rules learned will also be helpful in later life. The gym classes form the nucleus of the intramural sports by organizing teams which afford fun along with healthful practices. MR.
