Sweepstakes Winner Fzincdpal Qdlddnd Sweepstakes winner of the Fair edition of the Allagaroo is Prin. I. F. Gilliland. His outstanding work in all phases of community and school work have won him, in lieu of a purple fair ribbon, the 1947 Allagaroo dedication. In making this dedication the staff speaks for many stu- dents. During the 37 years Gil1y has been a high school principal in Kansas schools, he has been a guiding influence in the lives of over 14,000 students and has signed about 7.596 diplomas. Mr. Gilliland received his B.A. and M.A. degrees at Kan- sas university and took his postgraduate work at the Univer- sity of Wisconsin. Prior to coming to Hutchinson 23 years ago Mr. Gilliland was principal at Arkansas City for 14 years and superintend- ent ot schools at Iola. 9
