In the nearby halls stand groups of students chattering happily about tonight's game or worriedly about that ol' exam next hour. While the two scenes may seem unrelated, in reality they have a close connectiong for the students of yesterday Whose names are embodied in the Service Honor Roll have enabled education, the light of democracy, to burn on undimmed. They have made it possible for the students to enjoy com- radeship in the halls and freedom of thought in the class- rooms. All of those whose names are on the honor roll made great sacrifices. Heeding the call to defend democracy, some left educations incomplete while others had to post- pone careers. To all it meant a sacrifice so great that we can never repay them. In profound gratitude to those who have given so gener- ously to preserve one of the foundations of a democratic World we are happy to dedicate the 1946 Allagaroo. 4 ,
