Bill Mitchell, Student Council president, is the fourteenth winner of the highest honor given to seniors, the Young America award. The award is given each year by A. Lewis Oswald, owner and operator of the American Laundry and Zoric cleaners, to the person whom a representative committee has chosen as giving of outstanding service during three years to the school and who most nearly typi- fies the ideal Young American. Bill is an honor student and an athlete, being on the basketball team and a member of H-Club. He has taken an active part and interest in Peptomists and Valence Club and has served for two years on the Hi-Y execu- tive council. Early training as an Eagle scout only adds to Bill's merits.
