Senior Class ln the spring of '3l some 250 or more seniors were graduated from H. H. S. For three long' years the members had worked on an applique quilt of education adding' picce by piece in varied colors and with varied purposes. Then as the last stitches were taken and the quilters' names added to the alumni of the dear old school they scattered-some never again to darken the halls of H. H. S. During' that last year Dewayne Baskett served as president of the senior class with Virgil Crook, vice-president and Dorothy XYalker, secretary-treasurer. The representative from the senior class on the Student Council was Frank Neal. The class president also acted as a senior representative on the council. During their three years in H. H. S. the class of '3l took an active part in many activities and won many honors for their school. The last months were hlled with events interestirg to seniors, .Ns the result of the Senior General Scholarship Contest, Clarence lirumback won Fifth place in the state and received an award of sixty dollars, Many of the other contestants of Hutchinson Hifrh School ranked among the hrst twenty. Oo go 03 0 o 0 o 0 o 0 o 0 o 0 o 0 o O 0 6 o Some seniors participated in an individual contest sponsored by the State 2 3 Teachers College at Emporia. Not only contests. but the honor roll, which was 2 S published at the end of every six weeks, showed the etficiency of the seniors in 2 2 . . 3 their studies. P og . . , . . o This class was well represented in the Rational Honor Society. The most gg coveted honor was the Young American award and scholarship. The juniors delightfully entertained the members of the graduating class with the annual junior-Senior banquet. which was held at the Masonic Temple gg on the evening of May l. gg XValt Incorporated was given as the class play on May 5, in Richardson 32 auditorium. lioth the cast and the business staff of this production were made 22 up of seniors. 3 2 One of the events to which the class looked forward was the senior picnic 3 2 . , . 0 which was held at Halstead, May 22.
