.ALLAQAROO Cfhe Seniors Address tlliith apologies to Abraham Lincoln, Three and one years ago, We Seniors, ourselves, came forth unto this high school, a new class conceived in greenness and dedicated to the proposition that this class shall be the best in ll. H. S. XVAC have been engaged in a great four years' struggle. testing whether that class or any class so eoneeived and so dedi- cated can long endure. NVQ are publishing this annual to dedicate a portion of its pages to those who have so bravely Weathered the struggle. lt is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. But in a larger sense we cannot hallow this book. The brave Seniors, struggling and sueeessful. have consecrated it tar above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note nor long remember this poor volume but it can little forget the worthy Seniors and what they did here. It is for you. Juniors. to dedicate your tiny volume, next year. to the worthy seniors and carry out their work so nobly started. It is rather for you to honor the Seniors, that from them. you take increased devotion to that eause for which they gave their last full measure ot devotiong that we highly resolve that these Seniors have not labored in vain. but that this sehool shall have a new birth of pep and that this high sehool of the Seniors, by the Seniors, and for the Seniors, shall not perish from this earth. Ju.i.AcARoo Class of '22 lDallops Curriculum - Curriculum's Heauq and Slow Team No Match for Coach Faculhjs lDarriors Altho' Coach Flunk's Team did its best, the final score was 35-0 with the Class of '22 on the long end. Curriculum kieked off and '22 returned. Then began a series of smashing attacks led by Overall, Harmon, and Hastings. Near the middle of the first quarter, '22 went over for a counter. Play was more even until near the end of the period, when '22 scored a safety just as the whistle blew. Score: '22, 9, Curriculum 0. In the second quarter, '22 took the ball on Curriculuin's I8-week line and carried it over in a series of line bucks by Fontron, Smith and King. In this period, Geometry, the heavy Curriculum fullback, several times threatened to break thru but failed. '22 scored again near the end of the first half, and the whistle blew with the score 18-0 in favor of '22, In the third quarter Currieulum's heavy backs were charging the '22 line. XVork was beginning toweaken when Kid-Party was substituted. This so strengthened the team that they scored 9 points during this quarter. The work of lllhitc, Grovicr, and Crotts plainly featured. Score: '22, 27, Curriculum 0. '22 opened the last quarter with a whirlwind attack led by Knightly, Fant, and Mountain. In this period American History and Physics, two Curriculum players, offered such a spirited resistance that some of the '22 players were ex- hausted and left the game. Their measure was soon taken, however, and so perfect was the interference of Study and Mid-night Oil that they were power- less. The Class of '22 scored 8 additional points in this last period and the final score stood '22, 35, Curriculum, O.
