Parson and Myers win pie contest For the second year Dr. Hence Parson's social problems class sponsored a fund rais- ing event for charity. The class held a carnival in the dorm parking lot April 23. Proceeds went to help the Victim Abuse Center. Activities such as egg toss, cake walk, pie eating contest and scavenger hunt were plann- ed. The biggest event was the 'Give your teacher a pie' contest. Students voted for 25 selected teachers by placing pennies in labeled jars. A hotly contested race between Parson and Ran- dy Myers resulted in a tie. Each received a pie in the face. The contest raised S187 for the Abuse Center. Prizes for different events ranged from bak- ed goods to gift certificates from area businesses.

5 'Never Say Goodbye' 'Never Say Goodbye' was the theme for this year's Spring Fling held at Gowans stadium April 30. Many students turned out to participate in such afternoon activities as volleyball, egg toss, sack race, food relay, root beer relay, pudding feed, pyramid building contest, tug-of- war, pass-the-lifesaver, spoon-on-a-string, and the pie eating contest. After the planned activities, a barbecue, prepared by the cafeteria workers, was served. The meal consisted of hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans and chips. That night a dance was held outdoors bet- ween the art building and the vo-tech building. The band Strip performed at the dance held from 8:00 to 11:00. 4, as FQ' Lx Q VA tk- ji N N 0 if ft J' ' Q .X A . v A K S an - t Ik X- 'w qv 28
