N rn 2. o S on CS N0 O EC HOE The Home Economics Club is a service organization affiliated with the State Student Members Association of the Kansas State Home Economics Depart- ment. This year, 10 members attended the Fall Student Members Section Workshop at Cloud County Community College. Home Economics Club sponsors are Gladys Heter and Clarice McGraw. Members include: lBack rowi Nadine Beat, Cindy Dreiling, Donetta Androes, Anna Bergkamp. iFront rowi Karen Vierthaler, Denise Davis, Peggy Seck. Phi Theta Kappa was founded in 1917 as a nationwide organization honoring students in community and junior colieges for scholastic achievement. PTK participates ln many activities at HCC. One major project is helping with the Red Cross bloodmobile. Members recruit donors around the school, type donor cards, act as nursing assistants and prepare the slop- pyjoes forthe donors to eat when they finish giving blood. This year PTK had a record setting 150 units given each semester beating their old record by 15 units. Other activities for the organization include ushering at the Dillon Lecture Series and at HCC bailgames. This year Phi Theta Kappa won the Award of Exceliencen presented to them at the National Convention in Kansas City, March 21-23.
