wb? Why do students choose HCC? Maybe students just want to get away from home or spread their wings. Many come because they can get a head start in college life at HCC. They have the advantage of smaller classes which offer personal assistance from teachers and a chance to get to know their fellow students. A variety of programs is offered to students in fields ranging from business to the fine arts. There are ?E3QlIQlI? These laboratories give students practical experience. A technical pro- gram gives training in advertising, retail management, drafting, welding and electronics. The South Campus offers a program in agriculture. HCC attracts students interested in pursuing their sports careers while furthering their education. They com- pete in leagues, meets and tour- naments in football, cross country, volleyball, tennis, basketball, track, golf and baseball. The campus has more to offer than both class lectures and laboratories. Labs are offered in science, home economics, broadcasting, photog- raphy, art, vocal and instrumental music and student publications. academics and sports. This year students could at- tend a watermelon feed, the football and basketball Homecoming ac- physical education classes are always favorities. For those who feel the need to help others, clubs offer services to nurs- ing homes and the community. The Bloodmobile was at the school twice tivities, the Christmas Hoe-Down, lectures and the Spring Fling. Students participate in classes that appeal to them. Lab classes and HT' Nxgxxmma to collect blood from donors. Young adults, through HCC pro- grams, are able to satisfy their need to participate in helpful projects and attend special events.
