ttentiun Els iherteh Students divert their attention to activities once the newness of school isn't so new anymore or homework becomes a daily grind. A variety of entertainment is available in Hutchinson. Some students play racquetball, tennis or basketball at local facilities. Other sports such as football and frisbee are played on the dormitory grounds. Students who aren't sports oriented go shopping, take in movies, go out to eat or go to local clubs. The campus offers activities such as pool, electronic games and ping pong. There are also spectator games, shows at the Cosmosphere and a film series. The community has events throughout the year that students are interested in such as the fair, rodeos, auto shows and community concerts. 13 The basketball season got off to a fresh start as the Sports Arena's remodeling was completed just days before the Quarterback Classic. 2l The Student Union is always busy with students who have a little free time on their hands. 33 The Kansas Cosmosphere and Discovery Center, located on cam- pus, is a favorite of students and faculty. 41 Downtown Hutchinson has a varie- ty of businesses where students can spend any money sent from home. 53 The Matterhorn is a ride no one can pass up. 6l The Kansas State Fair is a favorite of out-of-town students on their first visit or area students on their 20th. 7l The Enterprise at night dares only the adventuresome to ride.
