After School. . . Afternoon is the time for many ac- tivities. Those who are still in class miss out on these extra events, but there are others who are very busy at this time of the day. With different seasons come dif- ferent sports. First football takes the spotlight for the male students, but it does not prevail overall because cross country runners are working hard too. Another group of athletes that are hard at work during the fall are volleyballers. As the weather gets colder the athletes move faster or they move in- side. Basketball takes the place of football and it moves players as well as fans indoors. Competitive track, golf, tennis, and baseball start in the spring and it isn't always warm for them either. People who are working out all year round are the cheerleaders and the Dragon Dolls. They try to get the spirit going for all the athletes. Sports are not the only thing that takes up the afternoon hours. Quite a few students work at something dif- ferent and these are jobs. Working hours are spent at places ranging from department stores to fast food chains to day care centers. Others use their time to study and to help other students study. After- noons seem to be the quietest at the dorms because of all the after class activities. Of course, for those students whose time is so valuable there is always the all American tradi- tion-sleeping! 'fs ft. We Love Nightlife! When the sun starts to settle and the day is coming to an end, some students are just waking up. Night owls are found down town with the bright lights and music. Peo- ple go dancing or can be found at various fast-food places for a bite to eat. In the evening students may also gather in the Sports Arena to view the athletic talents of HCC. Some turn away from recreation and choose education by taking night classes. Others can be found burning the midnight oil in the library. The night life is never dull!
