walker, peters reign Renee Walker, Clay Center, and Greg Peters, Buhler, were voted the 1979 HCC Homecoming Couple amidst the activities of homecoming weekend Oct. 11-13. Walker and Peters represented the Student Commission and were named the winning couple at half-time festivities of the homecoming football game against Highland. Other finalists in the competition were Julie Casley and Paul Brock, representing the cheerleaders: Sherli Adams and Jeff Londene, dorm representatives: Krystal Henry and Matt Pliner representing the HCC music groups: Kathy Brandewide and Jeff Phillips, HCC 4-H and Rodeo Club representatives: and Haleigh Hahn and Buck Meyer, representing the Dragon Dolls. Activities included a snake dance and bonfire Thursday evening and an assembly on Friday to elect the homecoming couple. On Saturday, parents and alumni were welcomed to the HCC campus and the traditional homecoming parade was held on Main Street. Although HCC marked its 50th anniversary last year, this fall marked the golden anniversary of the HCC football team. Past HCC football players were recognized and honored during pre- game ceremonies of the game. The homecoming game and a disco dance following the game wrapped up the festivities.
