the Dragons on a 6-yard scoring pass with just 13 seconds to go in the game. The Dragons lost one more to nationally-ranked Garden City before winning their third game against Independence, 31-7, before a home crowd. HCC was down at the half 7-3, but bounced back to score 28 points in the second half and win the game. In perhaps the most exciting but disappointing game of the year, Butler County scored a touchdown with three seconds left on the clock to sweep past the Dragons and win the season finale, 14-12. The Dragons had led by 12 points through the third quarter until Butler turned around and scored. After finishing their season play, the Dragons were honored with a banquet by the Hutchinson Quarterback Club, and Dean Hillebert was named Most Inspirational Player by his team- mates.
