College years produce unique living experiences College years often produce new and unique exper- iences for many people. The first time in an apartment can be an enjoyable and learning experience. Paying the bills, cooking and clean- ing, washing and ironing, and shopping as well as taking on new responsibilities are all part of apartment living. For married couples, trying to study and attend classes while trying to provide an income, and still have time to be with your family, can often sometimes be trying. Brother and sister, father and son, mother and daughter, or husband and wife combinations usually turn up in the classroom or other situations. All these experiences are part of college life and are part of the learning experience that can't be taught in the classroom. Part time jobs held by students Part time jobs provide extra cash and help to cut college expenses for many HCIC stu- dents. The job placement center, headed by Carl Skoch, placed 250 students in the 340 availa- ble jobs. Although the jobs are widely varied, the most common ones call for secretaries, retail establishment clerks, and construction workers.
