Dr. A. H. Elland President ADMINISTRATIC Serves As Nucleus Just as society thrives on dependable leadership, so does a school system. Just as the field of education is the backbone of society, the administration forms the nucleus of a school system. Hutchinson Community Junior College is privileged to function under the lead- ership and guidance of Dr. A. H. Elland. George L. Cooper, academic dean, and Reba Anderson, regis- trar and director of admissions, also play important and vital roles in decision making. Dr. Elland displayed his concern for the college and the student body with the words, The great philoso- pher Aristotle has said that no lesson is so important to learn, no habit so important to acquire as a right judgement and a delight in fine character and noble actions. As a college student you are building a philos- ophy for life. May the college teach you to learn to love the difficulty instead of trying to escape it, to glo- ry in the hardness of trying to produce better science, better art, better speech, better thinking, better char- acterf' George Cooper Academic Dean Reba Anderson Registrar
