Elland, George Koon. dministration Nucleus ofour College Our growing society places great emphasis upon maintaining a progressive scholastic education for youth. As the field of education is the backbone of society, the administration forms the nucleus of our school system. The supervision and improvement of teaching are within the jurisdiction of the administration. In the composition of the administration are a num- ber of individuals and groups, each of whom plays an important and vital role in decision making. One of the groups is the administrative committee. At present the group is composed of the following members: six divi- sion chairmen, Dr. A. H. Elland, president, George L. Cooper, academic dean, Reba Anderson, registrar and director of admissions, and Thomas Kelly, faculty asso- ciation representative. Other members of the administration include George W. Koon, director of industrial education and evening college, Deane T. Banker, assistant director of industrial education, M. B. Butterfield, director of stu- dent affairs, housing, and athletics, Ruby Munzer, dean of women, james Stringer, director of guidance and summer sessions, Betty Riffel, clerk of the board of trustees and business manager, and Alice Gerdel, col- legetreasurer. Assisting the president with decision making are two members of the executive committee: George Cooper and Reba Anderson.

To the right is Wesley Nunemaker Board of Trustees Governing Board Six elected citizens of Reno county serve as the gov- erning board ofthe college. Each serves a four year term. During the past year Dick Klassen was appointed by the board to complete the unexpired term vacated by Mrs. Hyla Bacon, who moved from the district. Concerned with the higher education for all and building needs, the board has the budget authority for helping solve problems of the community. Working with Dr. Elland is Betty Riffel, Business Manager Dr. A. H. Elland is in his seventh year with the college. 3 Z 2 'neg
