Technical high school. Over the years, the bowling club has had repeated applications and acceptance of ad- ditional teams. There are three players on each team plus an alternate. This year we have twenty four active competing teams with hopes for an increase in the near future. Mr. Hoeffler, our faculty advisor, has encouraged the clubs development, good sportsmanship, and need- less to say, good bowling. Mr. Hoeffler devotes his own time after school for individual as well as group instruction. We hope soon to be able to organize definite plans for interscholastic competition. However this proiect involves a little red tape and a lot of hard work. All in all, we feel that the bowling club has not only provided for the development of new friendships, but it also has the advantage of teaching determination through play. The Track Club, in its fourth year at Tech High, is a fairly new organization. The club was organized chiefly for the interest of the boys going out for track and field. lt is our belief that boys should develop physically as well as mentally. Practices are held regu- larly at the l74th Armory on the indoor track. This enables our boys to get in condition for the spring season. lt is not all practice, however, for we regularly enter teams in the Bultalo State Relays sponsored by the Buffalo State Teachers College. We also hold, in the spring, our annual inter-club competition. This consists of a number of handicap track and field events held at All-High Stadium. The handicaps permit the inex- perienced runners to compete with the varsity on equal terms. Trophies are awarded to the winners of each event. We would like to express our thanks to our Coach and Faculty Advisor, Mr. Gottsch, who has always stood for the kind of good sportsmanship which has become one of the symbols of Tech High. fs X 9 I i l'M CAPTAIN -I-X HERE, SEE? w- U 'tk' 74 zack C1446 OFFICERS OF TRACK CLUB President Herbert L.
