The Technical High School Varsity Band is one ofthe largest and most versatile organizations in the school. lt is made up of seasoned upper class bandsmen, and certain lower classmen whose training and experience enable them to handle the more advanced material. At the daily rehearsals standard and hard literature is studied and made ready for use in the school pro- gram. Entrance and exit marches are played at assemblies in connection with the color guard ceremonies, and accompaniment is provided for the singing of the Na- tional Anthem, and the Alma Mater. Many other occa- sions are afforded forthe band to play by the special assemblies and programs presented by the various school clubs and societies. The Band also plays for open house, parents' night, football pep rallies, special holiday celebrations and the Christmas and Easter activities. Last Christmas Season the band and chorus gave a concert and pageant in the lobby of the Statler Hilton Hotel. This event was so well rewarded that we have an invitation to make it an annual affair. The Chemistry Club of Technical High School incor- porates the abilities of all students interested in chem- istry. By doing this we proiect further into the study of chemistry, covering more phases and fields of chemical engineering. Our program for the year is varied in many ways and satisfies the interests of everyone. Class trips to plants and lecture-demonstrations are included to suit the tastes of every member. The advanced work is beneficial to the seniors in acquainting them with future fields of employment in the various fields of chemistry. This year has been especially profitable and worth- while, thanks mainly to the very capable officers and committees. The members of the Chemistry Club would like to express their sincere appreciation to the club's faculty advisor, Mr. William Block, for the assistance and JUST A LITTLE MORE oF the year.
