it-spt. of F357 saw the birth of a new organization at Tech. Yv'i'ih the aid of our assistant principal, Mr. Ryther, and three engineers, the Jets got their wings. The purpose of the club is to acquaint Techmen with the type of work being done by scientists and engi- neers so that they can determine whether they want to make a career in these fields. The Jets have accomplished much in this first year. In a Jets assembly an engineer from Westinghouse in- formed students of the status of today's engineer. Jets members were privileged to hear a lecture-slide demonstration by Col. Hunt of the St. Lawrence Sea- way Proiect. The Jets were invited to a meeting of Automotive Engineers. Members took part in a national meeting of delegates from over 200 Jets clubs. The Jets have gone on plant tours, viewed educational films, talked with engineers, begun a technical library, researched scientific and technical topics, and practical work projects. Freshmen or sophomores who have not as yet ioined the Jets should plan proiects before school begins next September so that they may start then when they become members. Juniors should have proiect plans made ready to complete them in time for scholarship competition in March 1959. wuds JET ENGINE EXPERIMENT ws mn in me me zoom? s V T ,' ff , 423' .pl K K .3 .,- f f f I ff X H1 . tl . The Chemistry Club of Technical High School incor- porates the abilities of all students interested in chem- istry. By doing this we proiect further into the study of chemistry, covering more phases and fields of chemical engineering. Our program for the year is varied in many ways and satisfies the interests of everyone. Class trips to plants and lecture-demonstrations are included to suit the tastes of every member. The advanced work is beneficial to the seniors in acquainting them with future fields of employment in the various fields of chemistry. This year has been especially profitable and worth- while, thanks mainly to the very capable officers and committees. The members of the Chemistry Club would like to express their sincere appreciation to the club's faculty advisor, Mr. William Block, for the assistance and JUST A LITTLE MORE oF the year.
