nth C1146 During the years that it has been organized, the Tech Math Club has increased greatly in popularity and renown throughtout the student body. The club is now in its fourth year of active function- ing. lt provides a great amount of satisfaction to many of our mathematically inclined students. We receive instruction from Mr. Buchman in the theory and use of the slide rule, desk calculator, and Jr., the electromagnetic digital computer, built with student aid. A series of ioint meetings is carried on with other Math Clubs for the purpose of displaying different mathematical instruments. Our aims are to create, maintain, and extend the high standards of Christian living throughout the school and community. This group meets every Wednesday evening dur- ing the school year at the downtown Y.M.C.A. A va- riety of meetings is arranged including sports night, chapel services, ioint meetings with other clubs and service proiects. This year we undertook the task of cleaning and polishing the trophies at Tech. The year of T957-58 is proving to be a highly successful one for our club, and we would like to take this opportunity of thanking all those who contributed to our success. President Bill Congdon has been working very hard promote the various activities which build good fel- lowship, leadership and inter-school co-operation for the Hi-Y members. ln this endeavor he has had whole- hearted support from the entire club membership as well as the YMCA.
