The Girl Reserves The Girl Reserve Club is composed of girls who are interested in both social and recreational activities. The most outstanding event of the year was the city wide conference held on March 7, ' at which all Girl Reserves in Buffalo gathered. In the earlier part of the school year, a tea was given especially for the mothers. They enjoyed this because it gave them an opportunity to get acquainted with one another and to see what the girls do at their meetings. During the Christmas Season pic- tures were collected and made into books for the children in hospitals. Mrs. Earl McGrath advises us. The Attendance Committee offers to your representatives the op ortunity of collecting the facts and figures necessary to honor those studyrooms that are outstanding in punctuality and regular attendance. The committee members have the pleasure of introducing new ideas to promote at- tendance in our school. Through discussion groups, talks with those who manage the attendance of academic and elementary schools in Buffalo, and other notable advisers, your representatives are given an experience which they will long remember. They represent you, but it is through your individual eiforts and determination that they are able to speak well for your studyrooms! Contino, Vasques, Trimboli. Hutchinson is proud of its Honor Roll pupils. At least 300 names have appeared on the Honor Roll this year. The Honor Cards are presented during an assembly program at the end of each quarter. Mr. Harry I. Good, associate superintendent of schools, and a former teacher at Hutchin- son, spoke at one assembly, and our retired assistant principal William E. Weafer was warmly welcomed at another. The pupils placing first this year are Ralph Cryesky, Dorothy F agarasz, Adele Gichtin, Anthony Ilardo, Beatrice Lippa, Angeline Mills, Richard Oberlander and Anna Tomasula. Others have also made excellent records. The Hutchinson Honor Award system brings before the school the pupils who excel in their studies. Averages are figured each quarter, and a pupil with an average of 9001, or over is given an Honor Card at a special assembly. The first award on the card is a brown seal for an Hg the second, a blue seal for an HCg the third, a silver seal for an HCHQ and the winner of all the honors completes his card with a gold seal for an HCHS. Roses are presented to the three highest at each Honor Assembly. Miss Hall and Miss Baldwin head the committee. THE HONOR ROLL-first row Cam C. The Hutchinson i C537 Band This year under the direction of Mr. Gerard C. Tobia, we have enjoyed many performances of the band. During the football season, the band, in their brown and blue uniforms, never missed a ame. Many s ectators enjoyed hearing their favorite college marches, and also appreciated the bands skill in ibrming the H , and many other letters, for ours is a marching band. As a result of Mr. Tobia's hard work and ability, the band gave an excellent performance in the music festival. We are proud to be one of the best high school bands in the city, and proud to have Mr. Tobia directing. 1 The orchestra, under the capable leadership of Mr. Gerard C. Tobia, is one of the finest organiza- tions in Hutchinson. Its purpose is to help the members interpret good music by careful study. The assembly programs were made more enjoyable through the use of the orchestra. The Music ' Festival in May required many weeks of preparation with the orchestra. We contributed our ser- vices willingly. Mr. Tobia and the members feel that it is a great honor to have successfully ac- complished this much. We think the orchestra is an excellent means by which we can do our share for the school service.
