CALENDAR FINANCIAL BOAR seated: Adelle Kauffman, Tommy wards, Adele Gichtin, chairmang Marg Lukacovic, Betty jane Deweeseg sta ing: Edward Posluzny, Rose Marie iiulla, Jerry Catalano, and Dorothy O' wan. Calendar Financial Board Long before work was begun on the Calendar nine efficient seniors were chosen by their study- room teachers to serve on the Financial Board. Their duty was to collect, from resources previously f planned and tentatively budgeted, the amount of money necessary to publish the fiftieth anniversary yearbook. Miss Erb appointed Adele Gichtin, Adelle Kauffman, and Betty Jane DeWeese. Miss Pierce chose Jerry Catalano, Thomas Edwards and Edward Posluszny. Miss Carman selected Margaret Lukacovic, Dorothy O'Sullivan, and Rose Marie Cardulla. Adele Gichtin was elected Chairman of the hoard and all collections and accounts were handled entirely by her. The Calendar Staff has worked diligently in order to publish a fiftieth anniversary yearbook commanding admiration and attention. We have accomplished this through the cooperation of the senior class and school organizations which help sponsor the book. We deeply thank the faculty and students who have so willingly contributed their ideas, time, and talent. We especially wish to extend our sincerest thanks to Miss Helen Cornell, our adviser, who has so skillfully guided us and without whom this publication would not have been possible. We are accorded the greatest pleasure in presenting the 1942 Calendar to you for your enjoyment. Contino, Vasques, Trimboli. Hutchinson is proud of its Honor Roll pupils. At least 300 names have appeared on the Honor Roll this year. The Honor Cards are presented during an assembly program at the end of each quarter. Mr. Harry I. Good, associate superintendent of schools, and a former teacher at Hutchin- son, spoke at one assembly, and our retired assistant principal William E. Weafer was warmly welcomed at another. The pupils placing first this year are Ralph Cryesky, Dorothy F agarasz, Adele Gichtin, Anthony Ilardo, Beatrice Lippa, Angeline Mills, Richard Oberlander and Anna Tomasula. Others have also made excellent records. The Hutchinson Honor Award system brings before the school the pupils who excel in their studies. Averages are figured each quarter, and a pupil with an average of 9001, or over is given an Honor Card at a special assembly. The first award on the card is a brown seal for an Hg the second, a blue seal for an HCg the third, a silver seal for an HCHQ and the winner of all the honors completes his card with a gold seal for an HCHS. Roses are presented to the three highest at each Honor Assembly. Miss Hall and Miss Baldwin head the committee. THE HONOR ROLL-first row Cam C.
