R 'THE HUTCHINSON VICTORY ARMY R 1 In order to co-ordinate all of the various war activities of the student body and to give credit for extra achieve- ment in our effort to bring peace back to a war-torn world, a faculty committee was formed to work out a plan. This committee composed of the Misses Allen, Caseman, Engel, Parker, Saul, Shank, and Ziemanng Mrs. Travis and Messrs. Glunz, Linderman, and Provost evolved the idea of looking on our school membership as an army to be known as the Hutchinson Victory Army. Each pupil was a rivate until he could earn promotion according to the fogowing plan: GROUP I Prerequisites : 1. 75'Zg Avera e 2. Anyone carrying 4 subjects who is on the honor roll will receive IM times the credits earned in that quarter. Anyone carrying 5 subjects who is on the merit roll will receive 2 credits when offered in conjunction with war work. Anyone carrying 4 subjects who is on the merit roll will receive 1 credit. The response to this plan was gratifying. In the United States Army it takes at least 7 months to become an officer, but in the Hutchinson Victory Army, by March 31, the following had won the insignia of Group I officers: lst Class Privates fPlain Pinj 1.
