'1 President's Address Today wc the juniors of 19'1, arc ctlebrating an cvt . : that we will always . , .- - r . - wt fondly cherish and one that we will remember as one of thc ldutstanding days in our high school life. We are looked upon with admiration and held in esteem by the lowerclassrneu, and we know we have the best wishes of the upp erclassmen. It has always been the privilege of the juniors to conduct the Arbor Day pro' grain. This observance of Arbor Day has hccn manifested in an increasing desire to know and understand Nature. We all partake of the joys and pleasures which trees and flowers afford us, hut we are sometimes apt to forget tlizit we have a duty to perform for these pleasure-givers. These friends of ours need care and protection. As our knowledge of them deepens and grows, we become nliorc conscious of their ncetls, and with this increased consciousness our appreciation will he intensified and marked with a greater degree of attention. Theres beauty all around our paths If but our watchful eyes Can trace it midst familiar things And through their lowly guise. Let us observe Arbor Dayg let us plant trees and protect upon each Arbor Day, with its message of spring and returnin them, Let us resolve life, to give Nature S its chance in all its forms: to know the things that are about us in the woods and in the ficlds, in the streams and lakes and on thc mountains and thi knowledge and usefulness but increase our joy of living. May the significance of this awakening, coupled with the plea is not only widen our ant memories of this Arbor Day signifies the awakening of Nature and the gloriclus presence of spring. i junior Day, serve as an incentive to the more serious, the great vcar. :r tasks in our Senior ALBERT D.
