Preparation for homecoming began many days before the game with Lester, Elvin, and Bob gathering loads of paper, wood, and anything else that would burn for the big bonfire Thursday night. Excitement ran high all around school as the classes worked on the floats for the big parade. The senior boys made ahasty trip into the country and came beck with an antique bath tub. Senior girls dressed in white proceeded to clesn up Johnson's Creek and the rest of the school too. They won first prize. The Junior Hot Foot smoked its way down the street, original and highly decorative. Hustisford came out on the short end of the score but even that set back didn't dampen the spirits of the merrymalcers who danced all evening to the music played by the Three llusketeers.

Nwmfzmf mmf gm. fm .spam On Monday night, December ll, the G. A. A. put on its usual winter carnival. The evening started with a program in the assembly starring Donna Mae Seegert, Uncle Louie and his Hungry Seven, and a tap dance by Elna Mae Roeseler. The star of the show, Miss Elvin Will, gave the audience a thrill singing nI'm the Lonesomest Gal in Townn. The usual baked goods, fancy work and white elephants were sold. De- corated booths attracted many customers. There was ice cream, cake and beefburgers for the hungry ones and the evening ended with the crowning of the King and Queen, Lester Zubke and Carole Roeseler. Her Court of Honor were Frank Gasper and Mary Jane Schuett, Duane Roeseler and Arlene Petenman, Gordon Kettner and Jean Falkenthal, Donald Key and Evona Schultz. The Crown bearer was Eleanore Lehmann, The Queen drew names for the boxes of groceries and one lucky person won a fine blanket.
