Intramural basketball at Husson College was very active this year with six teams par- ticipating. The standings were: Shir1ey's 4 1 Guiggey's 4 1 Mudgett's 3 2 App1e's 2 3 Ger1'ish's 2 3 Labbe's 0 5 The first and second games of the playoff between the Shirley's and the Guiggey's were played at Brewer Auditorium as preliminaries to varsity games. The third and deciding game was played at the Husson Gym. The Shir-ley's beat the Guiggey's in two games out of three with scores of 66 - 60 and 79 - 69. Joseph was high scorer for the Shir1ey's with 18 points in the first game and 35 points in the third game. Anderson led the Guiggey's in the first game with 18 points, and Dodge scored high for the losers in the third game with 26 points. The victors were invited to the Basketball Banquet. Two other areas of intramural activities were volleyball and golf.

Scott and R HB ' ou Men's varsity basketball, one of the major athletic activities among New England Col'- leges, has always offered the coach and players a great challenge. To have an undefeated team averaging over 100 points per game is the dream of every coach. Don Vachon, who has played four years n the varsity is one of the greatest competitors to perform for the Indians. ' l b invaluable in relieving McKay, Smith, and Board- Haskell, also a four-year veteran, ras een way. Red and his accurate one-hand shot will be missed next season. Two Massachusetts teams, Stonehill College and New Bedford Tech., will be added next year. These are both outstanding small college teams. With nine varsity players returning to the hardboards next year, Husson will be out to defend their Northeast College Confer- ence crow ' ' 1' b ketball as all league teams will be much stronger. n.
