Academic Tomb was one of our peppy cheerleaders for three years . . . aside from loafing with Bob , he could be found driving his dads souped-up Chevie . . . likes the idea of being a sailor but regrets leaving Standard. HELEN BOSSICK . . . Conmiercial Termite can really dance and likes to teach bashful boys how to jitterbug . . . lives in Hccla and loafs with Dolores . . . likes to enter- tain her boy friend, any special one, Helen? Plans to go on to school. IOHN BOYTIM . . . Academic just plain sharp is the descrip- tion for this handsome lad . . . is seen with most everyone . . . enjoys hunting and playing golf . . . says he has no future plans since he's too busy concentrating on this year's freshmen. CHARLES BROOKS . . . General Chuck', is a miniature Goliath . . . has one desire in life and that is to eat . . . has but one pet peeve and that is, of all things, tall boys . . . won't forget 108. CAROL CHENOVVETH . . .Academic Fuzzy was sports editor for the Hurstonian and was really wrapped up in his work . . . could be found after school in Norvelt-making wine . . . plans to join the U. S. Marines . . has many friends. MARLENE CHICKA . . . Academic VVas our piano and organ accom- panist her senior year . . . selects music as the best thing on the market . . . plans to go to college next Sep- tember . . .that is if she can find one that doesn't enroll noisy people. JAMES COOK . . . Commercial limp is especially devoted to eat- ing home-cooked meals . . . all girls who are interested can find him in Calumet . . . spends his study periods in the workroom . . . plans to enter Uncle Samls Air Force. IIALLIE CRAIG .... A cademic Hallie was a real ball of fire-a member of the N.F.L., N.H.S., and editor-in-chief of the Hurstonian . . . plans to continue her education and is bound to be a success. ALICE CRUM . . . Academic Alice was one of our high stepping majorettes for three years . . . as you may well imagine, her only plan for the future is to marry Red . . . will always remember football season. .IOAN DAVIS . . . Home Economics joan lived for her Home EC. class and could really sew . . . was an attendant to the Valentine queen in her sophomore year.

Agriculture Happy go lucky and always smiling is this comedian from Hecla . .. builds model planes when he can pull himself away from girls. . . can't stand women drivers. fHave you ever seen him drive?l XVILLIAM BAKER . . . Agriculture The strong silent type . . . Clem,' has no patience with grubby girls . . . has no future plans outside of spending the rest of his life in Nor- velt, the best place ever. MARYANN BALKO Home Economics Declares Standard Shaft her home . . . can't see why Shakespeare doesnt remain in the past . . . never missed a football game . . . says she will enlist in the YVaves, in June. IAMES BALUN . . . Academic Claims music is his hobby and ambition . . . attended County and District festivals all four years . . . is a constant companion of the two Bobs . . . future plans are . . . three guesses . . . to be a composer and writer of music. MICHAEL BANKOVICH Academic Mike can be found at any time at Steves Dairy Bar playing cards . . . would like to find a job with good pay and might find it when he joins the Marines . . . Usually seen with Elmer and Harpo. SHIRLEY BARNETT Commercial Barney', is a mixture of real per- sonality and good looks . . . likes to watch baseball games mostly because john plays in them . . . lives in C section, Norvelt and had all the way of one hundred yards to walk to school. Academzlr Phil', was our lovely Homecoming Queen . . . l'ill0VV11 and liked by everyone, especially Bud . . . lives at Pleasant Unity and plans to be a nurse . . . thinks snobs are a bunch of crumbsv . . . won't forget decorat- ing for the junior Prom. IAMES BENNETT . . . Academic ujinf' lives in C section and is usually seen in his blue Plymouth . . . was high man in scoring on the basketball team . . . remembers the days he went hunting with the boys. -IOANNA BIENIA jo joined the class of '52 her junior year . . . would like to be one of those number pu-lease girls . . . claims she will never forget her Hrst day at Hurst. JOSEPH BILIK . . . General aloe lives in A section . . . served as football manager . . . was very good at giving oral English . . . and claims he will always remember his senior homeroom. DOROTHY BLAZKOVVSKI General Dot was always in a rush . . . has her heart set on being a house- wife . . . possesses a great dislike for fifth period study hall . . . can always bc seen with Marcia and Aggie.

Home Economics Another resident of Hecla, and one that thoroughly dislikes homework . . . her only regret when she joins the Navy, in june, will be that she will no longer be able to drive her dad's car. NORMA DEAN . . . Home Economics Norm comes from Hecla where shc wastes her time loafing. Plans to become a model housewife . . . for a certain Larry. Her opinion of a certain girl, Oh, she kills me! DON ELSBURY . . . Academic Here is a handsome man who really has it. It,' referring to personality plus. Huck , who was center on our football team, wont forget the time the motor fell out of his old Plymouth. PAT FLANNIGAN . . . Academic Pat's home is in Standard Shaft, but he spends most of his time around Carpentertown, either at Krynicky's service station or at Philabaunfs. Thinks the school week should be cut from five to two days a week. ED FORISH . . . Academic Now here is a lad you all know andllike . . . Beans could listen to polkas for hours . . . can usually be seen with his friend joe . . . won't ever forget Dr. Mullin. JOSEPH FORYS . . . Academic Definitely the strong, handsome, silent type, is Bob . . . took part in all athletic events . . . an honor student who liked to be coached by Mr. Nock . . . lots of luck in your very bright future, Bob.,' IRENE FREDERICK . . . Commercial A sweet. little lady who hails from Standard . . . Has a sweet tooth as far as chocolate milkshakes are con- cerned . . . Can be recognized by always being seen with Rita and Eileen. DOLORES FRENA Home Economics This short and sweet Miss spends most of her time eating . . . usually found with Liz and Kay . . . hopes to get a good job after gradua- tion . . . got a kick out of Home Ec. all four years. ANNA GONDA . . . Academic This pretty lassie comes from the metropolis of Acme. WVas an efficient worker who liked to have her work in on time. Could be found between periods with Hazel VVilkins. DONALD CORTON . . . Agriculture Don could very easily do without English class . . . enjoys hunting but can't see much in baseball , . . developed a habit of spending money but hopes to curb this by joining the Navy in june. MARY IANE GOCINSKY Commercial Mary jane rode the bus all the way from Standard, Pa. Likes chocolate ice cream and dancing. Usually seen with Irene, Rita, and Eileen . . . Can be heard saying Holy cats any hour of the day . . . NVon,t forget the as- semblies at dear old Hurst. ELIZABETH GRADISH Home Economics No doubt the quietest person in the Senior class is our own Betty,' . . . enjoys reading and sewing . . . hopes to get a job after graduation . . . . WVill always remember the fun she had in our Alma Mater.
