Foreword Four years ago, when the class of ,52 entered the halls of Hurst, we were in- formed about two things. One was the fact that our happiest days would be spent here, and the second was that the years would pass all too quickly. Both prophe- cies were no doubt the truest words ever spoken. The excitement of high school begins the very first day you come to Hurst and continues on for the next four years. These happy memories can only be felt and ap- preciated by you yourself. Don't ever think that the friends you've made, the joys you've had, or all the things you've leamed during these four years, will ever be forgotten. Even if we, the seniors, would try, we could never forget our first dance in honor of the freshmen, class rings, proms, the farewell, football games, and last of all . . . Senior Day. Perhaps I'm only speaking for myself, but time has passed all too quickly. Oh, of course there were times when we thought it didn't go fast enough, but now that june is rapidly approaching, a bit of dread is felt by all of us. We begin to wish whole- heartedly that we were little greenie', freshmen again. Our class has had many wonderful times together and we seniors will never forget them. Hurst is a great school with a swell faculty and student body and we're going to miss you all immensely. Board of Education VVe smile a greeting to the Board of Education! These seven directors, elected by the people, meet on the second Monday of every month. Their duty is to serve and please the people of the district. Sometimes this isn't a very pleasant task. They devote their time and labor toward creating an interest in the public schools among the citizens of the community. They try in their very utmost to serve all of the people all the time. Their active services in the school program affect higher standards of educa- cation through which we acquire the advantages of a modern school system. Cur Board of Education is vital to our educational welfare. The members have planned and worked to provide educational facilities with the finest equipment. At one time Hurst High School was not the school of size and extent that it is today. They have recognized our wants and needs and have granted our many wishes. Their main objective is to further the welfare of school life. Criticism is often thrown in their direction, and congratulations are very few, but they try in every way they know how to perform their duties in order to please everyone. WVith these few thoughts in mind, we wish to extend our sincere appreciation to the Board of Education which has made our life at Hurst High School one of beneficial preparation and training. S
