Row two: Portertield, Johnson, Bennett, Cibulas, Briercheck, Leo., Briercheclz, Lowell, Hoover, Mr. Nock Row one: Witek, Yurlzosky, Harouse, Kennedy, Riddle, Forys, Stahl No basketball player ever worked harder than Lee . . . What Lee lacked in natural grace he made up with sincere, earnest determination . . . Lee's persistent hustle had a decided influence on the fine spirited play of the team. .X I, Qx, .. , Bobby is our turn shot specialist . . . Without a doubt, he was the most conscientious player on the team . . . always worked to improve himself . . . should develop into an outstanding perform- er during the next two years. Although not a starter, Nick always gave a good account of himself when the call to action came his way . . . Nick was a willing worker, and played his best at all times. Co-captain . . . worth his weight in gold under the boards . . . His driving tactics and spirited play contributed greatly to the unexpected suc- cess ofthe scrappy Hurricane team . . . He leaves big shoes which may not be filled next year. Co-captain . . . speedy little fellow who devel- oped into a good ball handler . . . one of the better set-shot artists on the team . . . His bril- liant play making will be greatly missed next season. '., 'j , , ' ','., M. Flick was our problem child . . . He blew hot and cold . . . When he blew hot, there was no better player . . . He has tremendous possibilities, and should become a great star before he is graduated. Wally was our number one ball hawk . . . He played aggressive, heads-up basketball all the way . . . We expect him to become the hard- driving, inspirational force necessary to next year's team. We called Billy the Old Reliable . . . ln many ways he was the steadiest boy on the team . , . His coolness under fire and smart ball handling came in mighty handy on several occasions . . . should be tops next season.
