cLAss PRGPHECY X :sF5::5::p'P lnimk gg! 15 yi Prophecy is a stran e thing Mr Webster says it is a declaration of things to come Maybe 'dream would be a better name, but nevertheless, when the time Qwhich in this case is ten yearsj is fulfilled, maybe we can read over this prophecy and relive again momentarily the happiness we know now Hurricane, W Va , 1961, population 2,000, a small town lying content edly in a beautiful valley It is skirted by small, lazy fields, these being owned and tended by ambitious folks like Charles May and his wife, Phyllis Joyce May Living on the May farm there are three small children who call Phyllis and Charles nlother and Daddy The largest field on this farm has been rented for a wild west show The 'King of the Westn, Dale Spence, is making a personal appearance with his famous horse, Chigger His top cowboy, Wild Bill Umberger, rules the two stable boys, Burke Bell and Ernest Meadows, with a firm hand and a six shooter Horrible shrieks greet us as we come to the business district of this growing metropolis These unearthly sounds are coming from a building with a 'dentist sign up over the door Inside, Catherine Thornton, lady dentist, is extracting a broken tooth from the mouth of Jerrv Hendricks who is chief nut cracker at the zoo What is that strange thing waddllng down the street? Why, 1t's Peggy Boggess, the famous dietician Just recently she gave a lecture on, 'The olly of Fudge Sweet music comes to us on the breeze, or maybe it's mingled with the odor of fresh popcorn We happen to be near the Kissmelove Theatre where Laura Neeley is practicing the hit song for Object of My Afflictionn In the Museum of Natural Mystery, owned by Patsy Fulks, Hermetta Mitchell is displaying her most recent painting of Mary Ellis, who is a well known model The president of the Hurricane Dairymen's Association, Lee Woodworth, has been called on the carpet by Bucky Dent, head of the Humane Society, for being cruel to animals. It seems that while Lee was supervising the oper ation of extracting cow juice, one of his jerseys kicked him and he returned the favor! Look out there! Whew, that was close! Franklin Meadows, who owns the Houndtooth Dog Kennels, was airing his dogs, and Merrell Taylor almost ran over him with his nFresh Doughnut' truck. 5' .mQi A .. ll msn uhhh , - .
