A silver loving cup is given to the class winning the most class tournaments each year. THE SPORTS Hockey was started in Huron for the first time last fall. Although it was a new sport there was a splendid representation and the Sophomores had a hard time secur- ing the extra po-int with which to Win the tournament. INV H Woman's Athletic Association is now an established organization in ' fix-l . , . . . ' . . Huron College. Since its affiliation Wltlnl the Athletlc Conference of i American College Women it has grown to be one of the most import- I, f 1 'fmekgsr fl! . -. . - ant organizations in the College. The purpose of the association is to promote clean sportsmanship, honesty, and class loyalty, to unify the athletic efforts of the women, and to formulate a policy for the control of inter-class competition. The governing board of the association consists of a president, vice president, sec- , retary, treasurer, a representative of the physical education department, and head of each of the major sports. Any undergraduate Woman of Huron College is eligible for membership when she has made a class team in at least one major sport. A. fCo7zti7zzzedD Following hockey came the volleyball season. This sport needed no publicity due to its popularity last year, and five complete ,teams fought every night. The Sophomore team could no-t be defeated and again tcok the tournament. Next came basketball, The Juniors and Seniors had to combine to make a team. The Freshmen brought in some peppy players and only through a stroke of luck did the Sophomores uphold their record of tournament winners. l i I About twenty-live girls from various classes entered the tennis tournament last year. The Junior team won the class tournament while Miss Helen Gunn re- ceived the prize for being the girls' College champion. Baseball season last year was somewhat irregular. VVhile a W. A. A. team was chosen most of the interest centered around the society tournament. Eight teams were entered, the Gamma Theta Rho literary society winning the championship. Track is being offered this spring for the first time. i Outing club is a sub-organization which takes care of all organizations not under the heading of a major sport. Hare and hound hunts, horseback riding, roller skat- ing, ice skating, canoeing, etc., are the main activities. .
