Up to the last few minutes of the game Huron was in the lead but a couple of slips and a free throw gave Columbus a Chance to play 'lfreeze ball and Huron lost. The next thing for Huron to do was to Win the city championship and this they easily did in a game with the Huron Independents. The western trip was the last of the season and the Scalpers returned from the Hills with a clean slate, having won all six games of their invasion from the strongest teams in that part of the state. Mines and Spearfish next invaded Huron territory and went down to defeat before the then smooth running Scalper machine.
