Back: Bruce Fodness, Lyle Konst, Brad Buckland, Murray Schiebe, Scott Meyers, Randy Andrews, Marc Contreras, and Dave White The Tiger football squad experienced a disappointing 1975 season. Ending the year with a 3-6 record, the Tigers went 0-5 before putting everything together. Going three and one the last half of the season, the Tigers placed two players on the All State first team. Brad Buckland was an all state offen- sive tackle, leading the squad in opening holes for the oncoming backs. Mark Kool, the Tigers leading scorer, made the all-state squad as a defensive linebacker, Kool led a tenacious defense that allowed less than 15 points a game in all but the season opener. After losing the first five games, head coach Bob Timm got the team going as they defeated Pierre by a score of 28-6. Then the Tigers defeated Mitchell by a score of 26-13. After losing to Watertown, the Tigers ended the season with an emotionally-filled defeat of Madison. Just before the final game, Head Coach Bob Timm suprised everyone by announcing his resigna- tion from the Huron Senior High School coaching staff. Coach Timm was head football coach at Huron for four years, winning the conference title his first year as head coach. ff at Hrs! V011 D014 'I Succee . . . Without a unifed team effort, the Tigers started out slowly. Tim Sexton was ill with flu for awhile and Mark Wehde was out indefinitely with a back injury. Huron was led by Sexton who placed highest of all Huron runners during the season. Doug Simmons also ran consistently well for the Tigers with Dave Lang, Tim White, Bruce Palmer and Gary Christiansen running outstanding races during the season. The Huron Varsity Basketball Team, coached by Mike Vogel, finished the hard- court season with a 3-18 season's record. With only five returning lettermen, the Tigers had difficult times, but as the season progressed the team showed much improvement. Low field goal shooting percentages were at- tributed to the losses of many close-scoring ball games. Leading scorers for Huron were seniors Mark Burger and Brad Shanks and junior Rick Jungeman, all scoring an average of ten points per game. Burger's 7296 free throw effort helped the Tiger cause while Shanks and Jungeman shot 42'Zz in field goals. Brad Shanks was also the leading team rebounder grabbing an average of nine per game. In sectional play, the Tigers lost to Aberdeen in the opening round.
