The chorus is a combinatinn of both the boys and girls glee clubs. The girls are robed m white satin capes w1th black wmdsor UCS while the boys have black satin capes, white collars wlth bow ties. The Chorus makes a Very attractive picture when they appear in public. The hrst concert of the year was presented m the new high school assembly on December 13, 1938. This Was a Concert 01 sacred and Christmas muslc. The or- chestra also appeared on this program. The second term was spent in rehearsing the numbers for the Sprmg Festival, which was at Mitchell, South Dakota, May 5, 1939. The four towns that participated in the Festival were Huron, Mitchell, Madison and Brookings. We were very fortun- ate to have, as our critic director, Nobel Cam Of Chicago, Illinois. Much Of the rhusic sung was written or arranged by Mrv Cam. He gave all the schools some excellent Criticism and help and inspired all to do better work. A special train Carried the chorus to Mitchell to one at the best festivals we have had. The chorus presented several numbers from the Festival Program to the Huron pubhc on Friday, May 12 at a MUSIC Week program at the College Auditorium. The Mixed Chorus sponsored the annual HHarvest Hop at Thanksgiving time. Two HJltney dances were also added to the list of entertainment for the year. The last appearance of the year was at the time of the annual sermon to the graduates at which the chorus Was the ChOH'. From the chorus each year Miss Buchanan, the director, selects a group of sixteen girls who form the Treble Clef Club, a group of sixteen boys Who are the hTroubadors. These groups are sent to smaller gatherings and entertainmems during the year where it is impossible for the full chorus to go. A group of Seniors from the Chorus are chosen each spring to sing at the commencement exercises. Thls group is known as the Senior Singers. The chorus boasts of some extellent 5010A 1st: who appear many times during the year. Huron High School is proud of its chorus which is one of the largest organizations in the school.
