LEON STRONG High School Principal PAULINE OSWALT Secretary REX ARMSTRONG Elementary Principal " A life spent worthily should be measured by deeds not years " Sheridan. The Class of 1965 presents the Medita as a token of their esteem and ap- preciation for the many hours which were given willingly to guide and to teach the young people of this school community. We wish to quote from the second edition of the Medita which was dedicated to Miss Isobel Krieg: " To Miss Isobel Krieg, our sponsor, Our guide and promoter Who through the last two years Of tests and fears Has helped us over stony places And made us again to have smiling faces. To you who have spent much time and work, To teach us that we should never shirk From our cause and duty, To you who have made us feel that Our friendship has been a pleasure; We hope that you will accept from us As a tribute to treasure. This second edition of the Medita. " The Class of 1965 wishes to thank the class of 1936 for the use of the tri- bute and stress the fact that they were prophetic in their viewpoint. Students through the years have found Mrs. Kreiger to be helpful to them when they were in need of a challenge to do their best and a helping, guiding hand when the going was a little difficult. It is with a keen sense of appreciation that this 1965 edition is dedicated to: MRS. The plot was based on teen-age problems and especially those which might arise at a school dance. The " Pot " was money contributed to go to the loser or the one who was left with the least desirable partner for the evening. -TffSC a iJ ewspaper Staff SEATED, left to right: Kay Harris, Mary Jane Kreigbaum, Becky Conwell, Kathy Hower, Rita Smith, Jo Rice, Dianna Beavans. This is station NUTS bringing you the award winning show, " That Was the Class That Was. " Tonight our program visits the Huntington Township Class of 1965 who are attending the birthday party of Alfred Piedmont, their distinguished sponsor who just reached the gay age of 99. Many consider this a remarkable feat since it was predicted that he ' d only last a few years after sponsoring this class. His co-sponsor Mr. Sell has long since joined the great team in the sky. Arriving at this party we find five well-known chefs in charge of the refreshments. DAN SCARBROUGH, JIM " WILBUR " WRIGHT, and GARY " MORT " MINTON are busily preparing a cake large enough to support the numerous candles. DAVE STEVENS and DAVE WALKER have a new creation called " Temptation Punch " ready to serve. You can bet that ' s good! ! As our cameras scan the room we spot DENNIS STAHL who was president of the class of ' 65. Denny is a notori- ous gangster who is wanted in 53 different states, especially by the ladies since he is a confirmed bachelor. We find Denny and his " bad guys " talking over old times. RIP ROARIN ' RILEY SWAIN is the class ' s only millionaire. On his right is ROB MILHOLLAND who is Dean of the Udrup College in Outer Mongolia. Track stars BARRY MICKLEY and GARY " FABULOUS " RICHARDSON are also here. With the help of these record breakers the U. S. has a good chance of bringing home at least the door prize at the Olympics. Tugging on the camera cords, we have manipulated enough leverage to get a glimpse of ELAINE GALBRAITH who is a very successful elementary teacher. Elaine still hasn ' t lost her love for baseball and still skips school occa- sionally to attend the baseball games. Talking to Elaine is Senator TERRY MESSLER who is also partial to baseball, and has recently proclaimed a " National First Baseman ' s Holiday. " Flash! Our outside camerman has picked up the arrival of BRENT " TYCOON " PRESSLER who is president of the Tnerb (that ' s Brent backwords) Research Laboratory. Brent and his left hand man " LITTLE JOHN " LITTLE are follow- ed by their extensive staff. We see JERRY BUNKER who is the country ' s leading tester of sleeping pills. These pills are created by MAURICE PULLEY and have the unique taste of old gym shoes. Also in their employment is BECKY BRUSS who has made a name for herself testing laughing gas. Included in the massive secretarial staff are SHEILA EARLYWINE, GEORGIANA HAUCK, SUSAN HOSLER, and PAT SANDLIN. These four are wearing exotic hair styles which were created by that famous trio, SUE ANN CHRIST, KAY KIMMEL, and MARILYN RUSSO. The top office man for this company is JIM " HINK " HILDEBRAND who takes care of all of the finances, small as they are. Roaring into the driveway on his Harley is TOM GELZLEICHTER. Ooops! Folks, it seems we just lost a camera- man. But never fear here come JORJA SPICKELMIER, who is an accomplished Registered Nurse, to his rescue. That puts an end to our outside coverage. Due to a couple of wheels in the works, we now switch you to the punch bowl. Sampling the punch are a few of the class celebrities. JEANENNE EMLEY, who was just awarded a " George " for her last movie, took time out from her personal appearance tour to fly here today. Her trip was made more enjoyable and safer by MARCIA HALL, who is a first-rate airline stewardess! Also near the punch bowl is LONNIE " ROCK " HARPER whose television pro- gram " Rocky and the " Squirrels " has made quite a sensation. Talking over a contract with " Rock is RANDY HAMMEL who will be the new co-star of Rock ' s show next season. It seems that playing basketball and the drums at the same time was too much for Randy ' s nerves. Looking around to see who else is here we spot RICK GOSLEE who just received the " Mushy Gushy " award, since he is publisher of the top love affair magazine on the market. Our camerman is moving toward the living room for a talk with WALT SCHROEDER who has the largest congre- gation of any minister in town. The size may Lie influenced by the nine hole coif course at the side of the church. Standing nearby is JIM SHIVELY and DAVE ELTZROTH. Jim started out to be a dragster and surf bum, but ended up in the " body shop. " He enjoys the ambulance trips, but he considers the funeral end of it rather dead. Dave is now head coach for the " Terril ' ying Termites, " a team comprised of four year olds. These youngsters attend NANCY COOLMAN ' S " Topsy Turvey Nursery School. " This school is also famous for its expert training in yell leading taught by SANDY SANDS. It now seems that this class was exceptionally gifted with teachers. JOHN FALK is teaching surfing at the University of Hawaii. Incidentally, John and his buddy LARRY BOWERS, who is a highly rated lawyer, next only to Perry Mason, also give guitar lessons in their spare time. We now switch you to one of our camermen who has his eye on a group in the corner. Among these are KATHIE KIMMEL, who is a private secretary for the Beatles; BEV WIRES, a noted model for the Pucci Pants Com- pany; RICHARD ENDSLEY, the manager of a long chain of R E grocery stores across the country; JIM " COTTIE " COTTON who is the head of the I. B. F. law enforcing agency, and JACK ALFORD who left his 779 acre cattle ranch in Fairbanks, Alaska to attend this get together. 70 The party grows more crowded now with the arrival of SANDY BAKER, NONDA FISHER, CINDY HOWER, and SHIRLEY JOHNSON. Together these four lovely housewives have a grand total of 37 children, but still look as young and lively as they did in high school. With all of the excitement our camerman has worked up an appetite. While making a mad dash for a piece of cake he stumbles over SHERRY STEELE, who is the owner of a large pickle company. You haven ' t tried any- thing, till you ' ve tried " Steele Dill. " When he finally reaches the cake, he finds MONTY COBLE, who has found a place in the hearts of the " Globe Trotters " as an ankle taper, taking the last piece. Well, it seems we have run out of cake and time, so we ' ll see you next week on " That Was the Class That Was. " Zke Senior Class Moroscopc Linda Elzey Rita Smith Nancy West 71 ie ?
