It is the year l96O, ten years have passed since this class has graduated from H.T.H.S. It was during their Senior Year in '50 thlt they decided to hold a class reunion ten years later. Jhen yours truly CReporters from the Class of '5lJ heard about this, we immediately decided to interview each one and find out what they had accomplished in ten years. Due to a previous engagement the reunion could not be held in the gym of H.T.H.S.,so it vas decided it would be held at 'Vic'su, the former nDoc'sq. Ne decided to arrive early and interview each member as they arrived. We arrived and as we ru hed through t e door, much to our surprise we found the profrietor and owner of 'Vic's', EUGENE VICKERY behind the counter awaiting his classmates. Upon questioning him we find he has bought 'Doc's' and is doing very well. Outside we hear a rattle and a bang as a blue Chevrolet pulls up which looks very familiar. It is none other than ROBE T BOQEBDFKE. We'que5Lomm Bob and found he han ily-well-married and has six little boneheeds-excuse us we mean Bonebrakes. He also says his black Chevy looked old so he nainted it blue again. While interviewing Bob, SHIRLEY LEE arrives looking very pleased with herself--we soin found out why-she is now a lifeguard at a men's bathing beach. Bythis timethey began arriving too fast to be interviewed as they arrived, so we just started interviewing. Our interview with KEYNETH LAH is rather shocking. He find he has been tracking rabbits in Alaska. Moving around the room we came uion CHARLES HAR!-Oh! what a shock. He has been raising rabbits-You know little Heres fInciaently Who Do you think turned those rabbits loose in Alaska? What's this talk about radios? Why it's none other than DONALD WINKLER, who has his own roaming hot-dog stand and radio repair truck. A good business if you can do it. With no reflection on Donald's truck, we hear someone tahdng aboutwrecks lt's none other than RICHARD HUSTON. He just couldn't keep a car, so he has started a wrecking yard. What's this little group? It looks like a circus. How right we are. Upon starting the interviews of this group we first talk to PAT CAILAHAN who tells us she is the Bearded lady of the Circus. DONALD NESS tells us he is head-manager of the grass-skirt department. And what's this? RUTH REED tells us she is the Hula-Dancer of this little group. JERRY NORWOOD says he is the 'Wild Man From Borneon, but to keep it quiet because they only let him out of his cage for the reunion. Right here in our own city of Huntington, HELEN JANE WINE tells us that she is working in at Young's--sacking up the rest of the nuts. DR. RICHARD GROVES tells us business has practically flown to him--He's a bird Vet. 16 NAYNE EIID5 seemed rather anxio f.', s for an interview--Here's why. He is now playing Center on the Anderson Packers bench--Oops! That was a mistake --we mean he plays center for the Anderson Packers when he isn't sitting on the bench. He find NORNA LAURIE as the us that she has had a very lean We found another member who tells us head coach of a fat girl's team. She tells year with only one win and ninteen lossesll had :ot strayed from Huntington, JOAN DAVIS she is Lead fo her own Reducing salon on Jefferson Street. We were very blessed when MARGARET YRIEGBAUX told us she is working her way uf from the bottom--she is a flag pole sitter. KThat certainly iis Working up from the bottom.J BARRY 5111? has been a great dise'pointment. He heeded for Hollywood and Paramount, where he was sure to land a job in the movies. He landed a job alright--stage urop for Paramount. My, some of the members of this class sure have changed, JO ANN KIINE even admits she is chief-tester for C.V. When we heard JIM TOBIH talking about digging we thought possibly he meant Qx6x5. Although we can'tsaf RICHARD BIEGHIER has a promising job, he certain- ly has one well suited for him. For ten years he has been mopping all the gym floors in the county. Are we slipping? Or did JACK JCHNSON really say he is head gutter cleaner at Majenica. Nearing the end of the class interviews we were not surprised when CONNIE GARRISCN tells us she is entering a beauty contest in a Rwrdays afkn a complete over-all job at the South Side Body Works, Last but not least, and mind you, sneaking into the place is DEAN NELSON, He tells us he cannot stay long, as he is being hunted by Forest Rangers--Seems he's a fire bug. He says he must get back to his hiding place in the sycamore tree. With one last good-bye we leave the class to finish their reunion as we think over our interviews with the class of'5O from Huntington Town ship High School. The advertising department consisting of Bonebrake, Huston, Reed, Norwood, Bieghler, and Johnson lsittingl kept plug- ging away until they got all the ads that could be gotten. Groves, Reed and Winkler are npencil point sharp' at draw - ing the sketches of the seniors. The work they did 1.ooks something like that of somebody elses. Davis, Kline, Callahan with the two worst editors ever, Kriegbaum and Smith showing them just where, why and how to paste the make up. The typing seems to be well in hand as Hare, Lee, and lah r go to work. If you see a blank or dark spot where someone's face should be, it is the work of the two shutterbugs shown, Nelson and Smith. Wine, Hinds, Laurie, our advisor Mrs. Kreiger, and Garrison handled the circulation of our annual. If our year bookvms a pint of blood, it cou1dn't have circulated much better. 50 STUDENT COUNCIL Mr. McCrum and the Student Concil have done e fine job this year. The girls athletic association was started in 1936 at Huntington Township under the direction of Miss Isobel Krieg. Since that time nearly every girl in this High School has belonged. Thi: fear the girl: 2 . are hapfy to have Miss Virginia Link as their sponsor. Activities which the G.A.A. members have participated in are as follows: volley ball, swimming, bowling, dancing, and ping pong. A hay rack ride was held at the beginning of the year at the home of Martha Graham. The G.A.A. sponsored a skating party at Beatty's Rollerena with all schools invited. At the end of the year an achievement day was held. This is a time for all girls in G.A.A. to get together and have a good time while earning extra points for the coming year. The big event of the year is the G.A.A. banquet which is held at the end of the year. The purpose of this is to welcome the new members, appoint officers for the coming year, bid farewell to the Seniors and receive those hard earned awards. Officers for 1949-50 were: President. ENIOR PLAY On April 12th the Seniors produced an unusual play, uThe Brain Storm.' Through Barry Sm1th's humorous portrayal of the Conscience, the audience learned that a conscience can be humorous as well as haunting. The cast, under direction of Mrs. Kreiger, gave a good and entertaining performance. The play took place in a small college town. Willoughby Adams was doing very well doing all his roommates work until the coach saw him run around the tr ck. After that, Willy had no peace, for there were the co-eds who were continually getting signatures for the petition toget Willy to play foot- ballg then his roommates didn't want him to because he might become popular with girls. Then too, his aunts didn't approve because it was too dangerous. Finally there was Sally, whose influence was very strong, and W1lly's visible conscience, who would give him no rest. The play ended with Willy on the Boot-ball team and everyone happy but his roommates. 58 JUNIOR PLAY It was an anxious crowd that sat waiting for the curtain on December B, when the class of '51 presented HBelieve It or Nota, a play whose title had a tinge of mystery. The mystery was quick- ly forgotten and the comedy brought many laughs especially with David Merrymen's impersonation of the maid. As the curtain rises we find that Harriet Follis 1 Phyllis Hartj is faced with an embarrassing situation, for she has but two weeks to find and marry a man in order to inherit money from her rich uncle. When her uncle arrives, her pal, Nancy KMarilyn Smyserj becomes Harriet's fiancee. Complications arise when hm men arrive in answer to Harriet's matromonial ad. Then one of them remains in disguise of the maid. The affair becomes riomns when a plumber, health inspectress, and a detective enter into the scene. The tangled threads are finally straightened, aniall things end happily for both Harriet and Nancy have managed to hook a man. CAMERA CLUB The Camera Club makes its first appearance this year. Many students interested in photography have joined to make it a well recognized organization throughout the school. The Members nick-named the club 'The Shutterbug Club'. They also have designed an insignia to match the name. The club has picture contests every month to see whocs take the best picture of a subject which is voted for in that specific month. One of the local photographers does the judging of the pictures. Since the club didn't think it necessary to elect a compbte staff of officers, a secretary-treasurer was elected. Deen Nelson was voted to take the position. The club is very happy to have Mr. Mulligan as its sponsor. 41 '5'0hool UV' Nxgken To wp at 0 ess Tl-IE ALL STAR EDITION W fm' 'U . ,A N Q Y -:N 1, '1 ' -' V' 1 -- wx. .-my ' ' K V 1' M ' f X, x . The 49-50 edition of the Huntington Township Junior High Team enjoyed a semi-successful season on the basketball court but had difficulty in winning a baseball game. The lack of experience as compared with their competitors seemed to be at a low ebb. A great deal of credit belongs to the boys for their fighting spirit and as is usually the case, there are a few boys who do not get the privelige of playing very often but yet you find them attending every practice and giving all they have. To these fellows belongs a word of praise. The basketball season proved more successful than the baseball campaign. Winning 13 and losing 7, the team captured runner-up hon- ors in a four way tournament held at Roanoke. JR.
