im, Serving as Senior A officers for fhe Cenfurions, class of Summer '57 were, left fo righf: John Mafhis, Sally McDowell, Fred Carfozian, Margie Loudon and Dennis Peferson. Summer '57 Cenfurions and powder blue were fhe name and color chosen by fhe Summer class of I957. Four wonderful years of memories are fhe freasures of each member of fhis very acfive class. These memories began in Sepfember of I953. Dennis Kelly and Carol Posfhumus were chosen as King and Queen of fhe annual Howdy Dance. Bob Riley led fhe class as Freshman class presidenf, beginning fhe many acfivifies in which fhe Cenfurions were fo parficipafe. Dave Anderson led fhe second semesfer as presidenf while Diane Benge was elecfed Girls' League parliamenfar- ian and Carol Posfhumus publicify chairman. Richard Newby led fhe class as Sophomore presidenf. Brenda Benfon, Diane Benge, Gail Sfevens, and Carol Pos- fhumus were acfive in Girls' League in fhe firsf Sophomore semesfer. Carol was fhen elecfed Commissioner of Awards in fhe Sfudenf Body, while Gail Sfevens and Brenda Benfon were sfill holding offices in Girls' League. Many of fhe girls also held offices in G.A.A. during fhe second Sophomore semesfer. As Juniors class members were even more acfive. Gay Ellioff served as Junior class presidenf for fhe second semes- fer. ln fhe firsf parf of fhe year fhe girls once more held many offices. Gail Sfevens was elecfed Commissioner of Awards, along wifh Carol Posfhumus Commissioner of Welfare and Diane Benge Hisforian. The following semesfer found Diane Benge, Gail Sfevens, Russell DeRemer, and Joan Taylor holding Sfudenf Body offices, while Barbara Willis and Norman Woodruff had advanced info fhe ediforship of fhe Sparfan Shield.
