Serving as Senior A officers for +l1e A+henians, class of Winler I957, were, leff fo righiz Tim Carpenler, Beairice Mayer, Gary Beckman, Helen Stay, and Herb Pa++erson. Winler '57 Way baclc in February, I953, Hun'ring'ron Parlc High School liirsl became acquainfed wifh +he Winfer class of l957. Reigning as Queen and King of +he Howdy Dance were Gale Good and Carol Rucker. The second Freshman semesfer found Jim Reece as class presidenf, and doing a fine job as 'rheir leader. As Sopho- mores, members of +l1e class became very aciive in service clubs and spor+s, and Jim Reece was once again elecf- ed as class president The Junior year saw many of fhe members ialcing pari' in Sfudenf Body ac+ivil'ies. Gary Beckman was elecled Commissioner of Regulafions, Jim Reece Commissioner of Public Arfs, and Gale Good Commissioner of A+hle+ics. Then in June, I955, Jim Reece was elec+ed as Vice- presidenl of +he Sfudenl' Body, along wiih Tony Woods as Com- missioner of Regulalions, Gary Beckman as Commissioner of Public Arfs, and Ari' Con1'essoH'o as Commissioner of A+hle+ics. This was indeed a busy year for +he class, and in January, l956, +he Phoenix Sociefy accep+ed Gary Beckman, Dale Burrell, Jim Reece, Ronald Langsfon, Wally Shidler, and Helen Sray as new members. As fhe Win+er class of '57 reached +heir Senior year, fhey chose as fheir color, apple green, and +he name Afhe- nians. Ari' Con'ressoHo was elecfed fo serve as Senior class presidenl' in +he summer wifh Gary Beckman elecfed in +he fall. Lila Bailey did a fine iob as G.A.A. presiden+, while Jim Reece served as Easiern League president Arr Con+essoH'o served as Sludenl' Body Presidenl' wilh Lila Bailey as Vice-Presidenh Joyce Sferen, Secrefaryg Alan Slcuba, Commissioner of Regulaiionsg and Dixie Melbaclc as Commissioner of Finance. Many were 'I'he offices held and school confribufions by members of fhe class in +he fall of i956 and winler of I957.
