Other oflicers were Bill McCauley, treasurer, Mary Langdon, secretary, and Dave Gammie, sergeant-at-arms. Honored as the outstanding boy and girl of the class were Dick Preston and Betty Lou Johnson. In an effort to be remembered throughout the years, the class left, as its gift, an inscribed drinking fountain, placed in Stockton Court, and those who drink from it may remember the activities and contributions of a worthy class. twenty Class oflicers were: Cleft to rightl : Dave Gammie, Mary Langdon, Dick Preston Frank Virginia Anast Lucia Campo Charles Braasch David Gammie Dorothy Hoffman

Executive Board Sum m er '47 After two weeks of one of the most vigorous campaigns in the school's history, final elections revealed the S'47 Executive Board officers. Donald Rebeck undertook the responsibilities of the stu- dent body president. Tom Bush, as vice-president, took care of all social affairs. The gigantic personality of Dick Blades took over the office of commissioner of public arts, to give Sparta some rip-roaring assemblies. The ever-smiling face of Jo Craun took charge of the Inter-Club Council and Spartan politics, through her oliice of commissioner of welfare. Responsible for co- ordination of all spring sport events was Commissioner of Ath- letics Harold Rebeck. The voice coming -over the noon broadcast asking Spartans to throw your papers in the can belonged to Art Dean, commissioner of regulations. Proving that the pen is mightier than the sword, Terry Ann Thompson, commissioner of records, took up at least half of the board meetings reading her minutes. Of course there was always time for Paul Smith to put in his two cents' telling about the 150 posters he hung for a recent dance. Old Money Bags, otherwise known as Bob Gar- ren, won the race for commissioner of finance Cn-ot that he was the only one runningj. It 'meant spending a lot of ti'me in the accounting oiiice for Bob and his staff. Ik Sk Sli Pl! DF P!!
