DEMETRIOUS ANTONIADIS Student Body President Executive Board Winter '47 With Demetrious Antoniadis leading as president, the Execu- tive Board saw one of its most successful semesters. Despite the rain, a paper drive was held, with gratifying results. This board was the first to attempt a student council meeting daily. Bruce Blackhorn, popular vice-president, acted as chairman of the stu- dent body dances, while Don Rebeck as commissioner of public arts, arranged and opened assemblies. Dick Blades took over all phases of noon recreation as commission of regulations. Super- vision of elections and presiding over the inter-club council were among duties of the commissioner of welfare, lovely blonde Lora Steele. As commissioner of athletics, Balty Gasporra ably han- dled athletic events, while Neil Gary excelled as commissioner of publicity. Bob Garren, commissioner of finance, handled the student body funds and Rebecca Wood recorded executive board 'minutes as part of her work as commissioner of records. In addition to in-dividual services, the student body -officers represented Sparta so well and worked together so efficiently that the executive board of '47 will be long remembered.
