Claude Lamar Reeves, Principal 0 Possibly no single institution has had such a constant existence in the .Xmerican high school as the year hook or annual. XYliile other practices and institutions have served their day and passed on, the annual has grown in importance and signifi- cance until today it is recognized as a detinite and permanent part of the high school educational program. Our own annual, lil Recuerdo, is more than a mere recital of eventsg it is an educational institution. the medium through which the spirit of the school makes itself felt. Through its pages the activities of liundreds of students and dozens of organizations are recounted, but more important, through the pages Of lil Recuerdo the pulse and the spirit of the student hotly is made to live. The seven cardinal principles of education constitute the theme of this year's lil Recuerdo. l aiu very sure that this hook can and will do uuich toward the fostering and preservation of the great ideals of education.
