The mean- ing of this statement is quite clear. Too many of us spend our time doing as little as possible, rather than maximizing our efforts and experiencing the true fruition of our innate abilities. It is my fervent hope that your years at Huntington Intermediate School have been inspiring and motivating to you in your scheme to develop to the fullest your dreams, your ambitions, and your life. The words am- bition, dreams and life sound like words from the never- never land of a fairy tale. But, they can become mean- ingful parts of your lives if you strive for excellence, set a straight course and don ' t let the tides of despair, neglect and stagnation be a hinderence to your fulfill- ment. One Senior High School graduating class selected for their motto Less Than Our Best Is Failure. If all of you take this motto seriously, no one will ever be able to say that the members of the Freshman class of 1977-78 shirked their duties and lost their sense of direction. Life is yours and no one can live it for you. The best that mom, dad and others can do for you is provide en- couragement, wisdom, advice, love and necessities. Some of them included monthly upkeep of the NJHS bulletin board and the candy heart project on Valentines Day. Bell-Sec. 22 The SCA was active in many areas in school as well as outside of school. They collected food for the needy during November, participat- ed in the Red Cross drive and sponsored a dance in the spring for the Huntington students. The SCA bookstore was started for the benefit of the students, but many teachers also found it very useful. Such items as pens, pencils, notebook paper, index cards, notebooks, hats, etc. were sold daily.
