Shirley and her husband have made Worthington famous by introducing a new breed of goats. Here's luck Shirley: And best wishes for your happiness. Hop on and hang on for we must hurry. We still have a long way to go. Our next stop will be Russell where we find janey Crowley acting as the proprietor of the former Rogers' Corner Store. They say she is doing very well not only with her store but with her collection of diamonds. janey always did have quite a few hearts tied in knots. We must leave jane now and be on our way. All aboard everyone: Huntington is our next stop. As we fly low over it, a big neon sign catches our eye. It is introducing the La Brecque Hardware Store. We find Jacky as the bookkeeper. We wish you luck Jacky in keeping your accounts straight, With a swoosh: Our magic carpet is again on its way. Where to ? To Michigan to visit john Eddy. He has arranged a famous Dance Orchestra known all over the world. His orchestra goes by the name of Swing and Sway the Eddy Way. john is still a bachelor. He says that his love for music is better than his love for women. Wishing him lots of happiness our magic carpet is again on its way. Our next stop is New York where we find Doris Knowlton. She has taken her place amongst the great stars. She plays the part of the unforgettable Baby Snooks. She also has New York wide-eyed, for in her spare time she models for television. You are a lucky girl Dorisff Now as we are off again, leaving the bright lights of New York, we come to a very desolate spot to find Bob Braman, our former Class President. He is living in Vermont and trying desperately to keep in stride with Paul Bunyon. Bob owns several saw mills in different parts of the country. By the way, Bob married a former high school student. Remember Carol Vanceff Leaving in a cloud of dust, we are on our way to Chicago to find Beatrice jones. She is a well-known author and has written many books. Her next book is The Ideal Policeman. And although it is not completed they say it will be a super seller. Well, all set, let us get along to the last member of the Class of 4-9. We are head- ing like a bullet toward Dalton, Massachusetts, where we find Nell Northwood acting as Superintendent of the Chi1dren's playground. Nell keeps a watchful eye on all pre-school children whose parents are at work. Nell also has two children of her own who demand a good deal of watching, for they seem to have inherited some of Ne1l's rnischievousness. Nell has done much to improve recreation for children. 'Keep it up Nell, you are doing a fine job. The magic carpet is swooping downward and so ends our visit with the Class of 4-9, Robert Braman Nell Northwood 36 Cla.4.4 Qifu Robert Braman ----- - Candy Bar Everytime I see Bob He is eating candy bars So here is a bar of sweets The name of it is mars. jacquelyn Caron :--- Diamond Ring Jacky already has a hope chest And is probably hoping for the best So we give her this diamond ring Knowing how much happiness it will bring jane Crowley ------ 3 Perfume As jane has one particular beau. We think that she should lmow That perfume sometimes does the trick To help that man stick to his chick. john Eddy ------- Automobile To john we give a brand new car So you can go to places far Without a mishap or accident You should always be content. Beatricejones- - - - - - - -House Beatrice is always wishing That she could own a home So here is a cute and little house And you'll never be on the roam. Doris Knowlton ------ High Heels Since Doris is so short and tiny With curly hair and teeth like pearls These high heels we give to you To make you as tall as other girls. 37 Nell Northwood ----- Vitamin Pills As Nell lives way up in the hills And has to walk so far We give to her these vitamin pills So they will cure some of her ills. Shirley Pomeroy - - -Needle and Thread Shirl probably already knows That she will have to sew his clothes So here is a needle and thread Now she can sew on buttons and bows. I, Shirley Pomeroy, do will and bequeath to Arlene Cornellier my secret on how to catch that certain guy and get him to pop the question. Remember to keep this secret and treasure it dearly. I, Beatrice jones, do will and bequeath to Arlene Rabideau, my admiration for the Down Homers. We, the Senior Class do will and bequeath the following: To anyone who desires to build a bonfire all the Shorthand books, so as to make it blaze that much higher. You really should take advantage of this very generous offer. To Ernestine Perry a muffler, so as to stiffle that giggle of hers which seems to burst forth in every one of her classes. To Ellie Ducharme and Nettie Pease each a certificate for their lady like sportsman- ship on the basketball squad this year-keep up the good work girls. To Bam Packard, a shotgun to keep away all those charming girls who are continually after his affections. To june Parish a chauffeur to drive her to and from those hasty excursions she must make so frequently before school. This will save so much wear and tear on you june. To Raymond Crum, a motor bike, maybe this will aid Ray to reach his destination on time. To Maxwell Fiske, a pair of Adams Shoes so that he can look down at his girls and not up. To the junior Class our positions, hardships and joys of the Hi-Lights. The best of luck to you. To Sally Caron an extra large box of powder so as to try and hide thai pretty red blush. To Marion Dodge a few quarters so she will be paid off for all the compliments she has given to the Seniors. To the Freshman, the 1949-50 Edition, how to act as High Schoolers and show respect for the Teachers. On this twenty-second day of June, 194-9, A. D., the Senior Class of Huntington High School, Huntington, Massachusetts, signed their last will and testament in our presence. ' Doris Knowlton janet Crowley 39 Clad! ffidorg One cold day as we sat in the Commercial Room, we found ourselves thinking back over our school years at Huntington High School. We recalled our Freshma.n year when we actually had all of seventeen students in our class. After our formal introduction into high school by means of Freshman Initiation, we were finally on the road which we were to travel in order to be prepared for whatever opportunities the world might be saving for us. Our only financial adventure for that year was a movie, The Black Pinto. Much to our surprise, this turned out to be the biggest movie success that year. The remainder of our Freshman year passed slowly, as we have often been told, all Freshman years have a way of doing. However, the time finally came when we received our report cards which read, Promoted to Grade Ten. We entered our Sophomore year with a lot of enthusiasm and big plans for our Sophomore Hop. As a financial venture, it will never go down in school history, but it will go down in the history of our hearts as a fond memory. You see, right after this hop, several of our classmates left us--two of them going as far as Florida to take up residence. Before the close of our Sophomore year, we had the excitement of choosing our class rings. We, the Class of '4-9, had to be differentf We chose oval rings while in previous years they had always chosen square rings. Upon entering our junior year, we had the pleasure of making a final payment on our rings so that we might begin wearing them. During the year, we undertook several financial adventures, profiting on some, losing on others, and once in awhile, breaking even. The one event we looked forward to the most that year was our junior Prom. We put every effort we could into it in order to make it a success--and it was, fsocially, if not financially.l As the old saying goes, A good time was had by all --even when clean- up time rolled around. Following our junior year, our thoughts turned to our Senior year, and most of all, to our class trip to Washington. Our biggest problem was money: We started the year off with a Bang. Everything that we have had up to this day, has been a big success. We have a few more plans to carry through, and then, if everything goes well, we will all have one grand time in Washington. After our return from our class trip to Washington, we will make preparations for our last adventure together-- Graduation, From there, the road turns off with a separate fork for each one of us. But no matter how far we might travel on these roads, we shall never forget that big wide road we traveled together--even over the hardest bumps.
