Senior Class Prophecy Once upon a time in the Land of Believe Nothing of What You Hear and Only Half of What You See we chanced to see a pair of elfin ears protruding around the corner of a lollypop bush. On further inspection we discovered none other than Joe Hunnicutt. After a pulling session the was stuck to the bush! we persuaded him to take us on a Movietone tour of the land. But fearing the mighty hand of his queen, he whisked us OH to the ice-cream castle of Good Queen Buzz where we were led into court by the Lady in Waiting, Joan Ley,-on roller skates, no less. We quickly explained to her majesty, who sat on a throne of chocolate creams, our plight-we had fallen through the famous puddle in front of St. Pete's. She took pity on us and offered to take us on a tour of her Kingdom before we must return home. From the gold encased windows of her highness' chocolate-covered carriage, which coacliman Bernie Parker commanded with the air of a Buick driver we saw: Ivan Strass practicing for the Olympic Hockey games while Mary Ann Bickel was perfecting her famous Swan Dive. Lifting our eyes upward we gazed at a gaudy marquee proclaiming Joanne Thompson as the new leading lady opposite Tom Stoffel in that startling modern drama, Shakespeare's Hamlet We couldn't miss perceiving the flashy sign of the Blue Angel headlining that sensational blues singer, the one and only, Lorraine Machall with that fascinating dance team, Pat Eckert and Suzanne Hart, filling out the second half of the bill. A Hash of lightning-a bolt of thunder and who did we see overhead but that magic carpet demonstrator, Fritz Gill with his competent and pretty stewardess, Corrinne Lan- drigan. A mellow voice drifting from a hot dog stand soon overcame us and we turned, only to be dazzled by Pablo Godfroy crooning Blue Tail Fly to his adoring customers. Literally, tearing ourselves away from this scene we heard a loud charm school under the auspices of the Misses Aufty, Rusty, and Ruthie. Under the sign of the Ferd Meehan Super Market we saw Vice-President Max Geyer, in charge of all menial tasks, dusting off the sidewalk. In the park, that original and creative designer, Phyllis Young was at it again with glamorous Towers Models, Virginia Siemik and Glenna Claus. Still farther on we recognized Ed Ehler supervising the landscaping of the new Municipal Swimming Pool, with his engineer, Tom Scher. Stopping at the corner drugstore we found proprietoress, Joan McNamara discussing plans for her new shop with interior decora- tor, Karl Reinhart. We chatted with Margie Yaste who was relaxing at the counter after a hard day's work as Community Nurse. Upon dashing out the door we collided with Joan Johnson who informed us that she is secretary to Don Saluke, executive head of the diaper industry ihe's almost got it pinned up! J. Rolling along once again we saw Hilda Johnson playfully amusing her small charges in the front yard of her nur- sery school. Then a familiar sight met our eye-Mary Ellen Stoffel wielding the gavel at the National Out- door Convention of the Beta Club. Yes, a mere prophecyg maybe a hypothetical nightmare of no consequence, with no strings for a fu- ture. Yet maybe these few fantastic make-believes, will be the necessary link to spur them on to the fulfill- ment of their goal in life! Jean Ann Klepper Jackie Ferris M5011 9
