CLASS PROPHECY After about ten years of working in Washington D C w here I obtained a Job af ter graduating from business college I began to wonder about my old Classmates of the graduating class of 1947 48 On my way home I dined at a large night club in New York where Peggy Maddox was star dancer I was even more surprised to find the Orchestra leader was Jimmie Ware Jack Jenkins seemed to have inheirted a large sum of money from a rich uncle and was living in Texas We had a long conversation but I learned little about my classmates except that Dotty Owens was a famous model in Hollywood From there I went to theater where Clarice Hood was cashier From her I learned that Joanne Gray and Mary Gatton were owners of a famous fashion shoppe in Paris The movie had been produced by Arville Grey Wilkes and his assistant Troy Smith I continued my Journey and while in lNashv1l1e I learned that Glynn Byars had ob tained his life long ambition a college professor and Rachel Britt was his private secretary I also saw Bobby Bridges was still determlned to get through college was a star football player From him I learned that John F Williams was a radio announcer over the N B C network Upon reaching home I found that quite a few of my classmates had decided to re main in Huntingdon One of them I was especially concerned about was Doris Nelle of course was the ow ner of the largest drugstore in Huntingdon Dot Allen and Joe M11am also tied the knot and were living on a small farm on lNash ville Highway as yet they didn t have any children MarJor1e Bennett had gotten married and she and her husband had settled in Hunt 1ngdon with their small family of two children Ohlyes I can t forget Davey Lee Laster unmarried of course who was coaching the H H S Mustangs Seems Waunetha Jordan had made her home in Bruceton We hear she is very hap up with her husband and three children I see George McCall IS the owner of the largest hotel in Huntingdon and that Tommy Tosh had recently become president of the Peabody College in Nashville I visited H H S to fmd Rachel Roberts was the basketball coach Bob Allen the owner of the largest farm in the state was the proud father of three children Lee Chance had gone aw ay to college after graduating and was All American bask etball player The day before I left I picked up the paper to read where Betty Pinson and Bonnie Jean Roark had just returned from a tour to Europe where they had a made a study of foreign languages and had returned to America t o become teachers I also read where Glen Dill w as a famous psychalogist in Phlladephxa On my way back to Washington I chanced to buy a book written by the famous nov elist, Lucille Espey I had a wonderful vacation It was nice hearing from all my old classmates again MARTHA POWELL Pritchard or rather, Mrs. William Bolen and she had two lovely children.
