1929 THEOPTIMIST SENIOR FAREWELL As the close of our High School career approaches, we begin to feel more and more the significance of graduation. We feel the honor of the oc- casion, we are proud of our accomplishment as graduates, but we also find that graduation means the breaking off of relations with the old school, the faculty, and our many friends and classmates. We have grown to love our Alma Mater, and we shall never forget the inspiration and the knowl- edge that she has given us. But all things human must come to an end. Soon we shall be given the greater and more important task of living up to the ideals and the standards of the modern world. So, old school, we bid you farewell, may you never betray your trust of enlightening and uplifting generation after generation of young Ameri- cans. Toward the faculty, we feel the deepest gratitude and we extend to them our sincere thanks for the things they have done for usg to our fellow students we give best wishes. Now for life's Work! Extra Curricular Activities ELAINE BAMBERGER Elaine Bamberger, sophomore, received a gold medal for winning first place in Division 1 A in the District Latin Contest at West Baden, Sat- urday, March 23.
