As we the seniors close the gate behind us, we will long remember the work and the play which we have enjoyed. Our successes and our failures have helped to develop our personalities and have been the foundation on which we have built our character. All thic has been the key which will open the door to our success as we journey on life ' s pathway. We must leave this all behind as memories, and we should now center our thoughts upon the future. The boys find out how to use power saws in the shop, research books from the library, and weights and levers in physics lab. This thought, Let us give thanks for all God has given us, was presented to us during our Thanksgiving convocation. These scenes represent some of the happenings around our school. Two of our National Honor Society members and their sponsor are ad- miring the Honor Roll plaque which the society purchased for our school. Ah! Ha! This is similar to Fibber McGee ' s closet. No, this isn ' t Churubusco High School. FADS This page is dedicated to the teenagers of 1961. These fads and customs will certainly serve as a remembrance token out of teenage life. First comes their love for music. It is more than a passing fad; it is part of their lives. Pointed-toe and tennis shoes, bulky sweaters, Bandstand skirts, trench coats and continental slacks are among the favorites in wardrobes. Favorite foods consist of pizza, Big Boy ' s, french fires and Pepsi. And, of course, the custom of ring exchanging is still popular year after year while other fads come and go. ■H ■B 10 xcvirr Mr. Paul Gerard, supervising principal, and Mr. Eugene Wort, assistant principal, are pictured above. They are responsible for enforcing school regulations and handling problems. Their close connection with all special activities here at school is an im- portant one as each year brings an improve ment in student responsibility and maturity , L Presented on this page are some of the people behind the scenes of the school who see that all the details of policy and organiza- tion are carried out. The group above is the school board whose members are left to right: James McComb, president; Fred Dickes, corresponding secretary; Glen Buckmaster, vice presi- dent; Walter Gump, treasurer; and Glenn Shank, secretary. Mr. F. Kenneth Feuerbach, County Superintendent of Schools, is also pictured above during one of his visits to Huntertown. Below are the school secretaries who always seem to have hundreds of extra moments during the day to help all callers in the office. On the right is Mrs. Betty Grim; left is Mrs. Lela Rinehold. 12 r NONDES M. ALDRED Remedial Reading; Indiana University, Bachelor of Science. Bill Sauder, chief pohtographer, collapses over the step ladder, and his assistants, Dewey Frederick and Dick Cartwright, join him around the ladder. Mrs. Gorsuch, the advisor, seems to be tearing her hair out while in front of her Blix Ann Siepert, Kay Cook, art editor, and Mary Ann Archer, sports section head, get their heads together in a weary pose. Near the clock Kay Lorenz and Charlotte McDuffee look through old yearbooks. Linda McComb, head of the activities section, and Barbara Russell find support from the chalk ledge. In the front row Nancy Miller pounds out the last few lines of copy as Janet Bower, underclass section head, holds Judy Smith ' s head under the blade of the paper cutter. The editors in chief, Re- becca and Roberta Russell, sit next to the overloaded wastebasket, tired but happy, as they realize their job is finished.
