awe p'za,e4eag The year of 21511 finds the senior class of Nl starting' thei1' expedition for the unknown planet of Mars. 'llhe roeket was invented by the well know11 seientist. Charles Uyerly, who has tried for over 100 years without sneeess. to ereate a ship that would export every human being' from this planet into the world of tomorrow. The roeket, whit-li is square like an egg, is being' shot by our humorous, good looking' Diek Bower. who is trying at the moment to drag his little angels who happen to be Eddie Tom. Jr. and Tom llenry, Sr., away from the window before they fall out into the elutehes of our little. gruesome Mary Ann Grosjean, the dying monster. She was dying around threw the air with the greatest of ease. The eo-pilot, Dorothy Freeman. was paying' due respeet to her knitting' whit-li she was doing' for her little. unknown bugs on Mars. As we were exploring' the roeket we walked into the pit v. here we found hanging' by their feet none other than Kathie Shew and -laek Flaigg who seemed to enjoy sleeping' that way. As we walked on in a little farther we found pretty. little Gladys Guitf and Betty Fox working' on the motor. Then we went to the window to look out: here we saw our handsome Ned Keener and Lois Siples, sitting on top, enjoying' the sun light from the stars. So we joined them for a little minute. Oh. there 's the milky way and there is Mary Patterson, Ray Konger. Charlene llc-Kinley. and Jaek Bowser riding a1'ound on a iee ereani eone! XVe rode on a. little farther then we eame to the dipper. llere was -Tim Clark and Ray Cummins trying' to g'et a drink of water out of it. lVe rolled on in and around the stars and stripes until we finally reaehed Mars. NVe parked our roeket in the yard of Hill Till 's famous mansion known as the Ted Hawk raneh. lt was all feneed in by a great. big eloud in whit-h we saw g'reen-eyed Russell Green riding' on a pair of seissors. Getting' out of our roeket we started our expedition of Mars. Running' into Mary Roth's store we saw she was selling our famous lietty Thomas' apple seeds, Exploring' a little farther, we saw a sign which read. This way to Sillie Phil .lohnson's baby setting' ag'eney. Curious as We were we went down to see it and found two little orphans which were none other than g'rog'g'y Norma Croxton and lanky Burl Gause. As we hurried on we found a pieee of paper whieh head, 'tSee the moon through Vaughn llarsi-hand's sight seeing' lslandf' So finding it we looked at the moon and saw that Virginia f'hampan was the woman in the moon. Looking' around we saw Ann Kell and Ann Arnold enjoying a moon bath on the beach of Charles Freeman 's lake. As the sun was melting' in the north, we all jumped aboard our ror-ket and started baek to our fair eity of Huntertown. Un our way We saw Donald Shultz frying red eggs on the Sun. 'l'here's the North Star and what do we see, but none other than Rose Ann Peters swinging on it by her teeth. As we glide through the air we see VVilma Genth and Lee Gordon wondering around in the breeze, trying' to find Fred Streets and Bill Fritz, who were enjoying a green eheese sandwich. Sitting' on a streak of lightning, having a game of cards were Allen Gillum and Owen Gross. Coming' on in to our school yard we were greeted by a wonderful stoogie Bob NVise. With a hit and a miss we found ourselves situated in the halls of H. II. S. Which goes to show that anyone can make believe. 18
