Band Heading the band this year we see Phil Dickes as President, Iean Shank as Vice-President, Pat Kelham as Secretary and Treasurer and Mr. Sloiier, our able Music Director. Last fall, the band played at the Decatur Halloween Festival and was awarded second prize which amounted to thirty-live dollars. The band played for the Woodburn Day Celebration, Farmers Institute, PTA Festival and of course the basketball games. It maneuvered for six of the games with the best periormance for the Churubusco game December the tenth. Santa Claus and his reindeer came out onto the floor and stopped on an imaginary rooi top. Santa got out oi his sleigh and slid down the chimney to put presents in the stockings that were hanging on the fireplace. While this was going on, the band played Christmas songs. The band entered the annual Band Festival held at New Haven this year. It played Men In Gray, Two Moods, and Scepter oi Liberty, The music produced by the band has been somewhat different this year. The Kid Grows Up, a novelty number, Hair of Gold, a popular tune, and March of the Toys, an overture were among the most interesting musical numbers during the past year. There are seven students completing their senior year in the band. They are George Dunten, Paul Gause, Patricia Kelham, Iunior Houser, Phil Dickes, Clem Wetzel and Iean Shank. 35
